Actor Leonard Nimoy died on Friday, prompting an outpouring of remembrances and a boatload of “live long and prospers” across social media. Nimoy, who portrayed iconic sci-fi character Spock on the Star Trek TV series, was 83. And thanks to some creative Canadians, he’ll live on a little longer.

While it’s illegal to deface Canadian currency, I’ve got to hand it to the clever folks who figured out that Sir Wilfrid Laurier, on our $5 bill, was ripe for “Spocking.” Hey, Laurier has been on the bill for decades. Let’s give Nimoy/Spock his 15 minutes. Or maybe a few more.

Besides, as a guy who can’t draw a stick person with a ruler, I’m impressed as all heck with the artistry. Here’s a link to the story, and another picture. Because, speech bubble.
