The 2016 CMT Awards nominee list was announced this morning by a special guest. The CMT Awards will air June 8th.

Thomas Rhett took the time to announce the first round of nominations today. With Video Of The Year being an amazing and MASSIVE category, it’s going to be difficult to pick your favorite.

Blake Shelton, “Sangria”
Cam, “Burning House”
Carrie Underwood, “Smoke Break”
Chris Stapleton, “Fire Away”
Florida Georgia Line, “Sippin’ on Fire”

Thomas Rhett, “Die a Happy Man”
Tim McGraw, “Humble and Kind”

The Male and Female Video Of The Year seems to have a few obvious picks, but after this year’s ACM Awards you never know what could happen.

The Group/Duo Video Of The Year would be the obvious choice of Florida Georgia Line, but Little Big Town’s Girl Crush” was nominated for a Grammy for Best Song. This list of nominations could take it away from FGL after winning a mass amount of awards this year so far.

Brothers Osborne, “Stay a Little Longer”
Dan + Shay, “Nothin’ Like You”
Florida Georgia Line, “Sippin’ on Fire”
Little Big Town, “Girl Crush”
Old Dominion, “Break Up with Him”
Zac Brown Band, “Loving You Easy”

The list of nominees for Breakthrough Video Of The Year is so tight that it would be hard to choose. If you hit up Youtube and watch them you will understand where I’m coming from.

The final category announced is the most unique category CMT Performance Of The Year. This is based around their own performances on the Crossroads Series or other performances leading up to the awards. Each nominee is more unique than the other. Weird and unusual pairings, but they work in every way.
