Campbell and Farwell Confessional! I’m cheating just a little bit with this #SmallTownSunday experience. This trip actually took place during the #Farwell4Hire campaign back in May. BUT….! It did actually happen on a Sunday, and it was a small town recommended by one of YOU (thank you, Ann Genevieve Garniss)!

It’s been awhile since we’ve done this, so by way of reminder, Small Town Sundays are my attempts to visit small towns that you recommend I visit! It all started with a spontaneous motorcycle ride out into Perth, Huron, Grey, and Bruce counties. I travelled through Wroxeter (The Former Ghost Town), Belmore (The Hamlet with Heart), Mildmay (home of Sandy’s Restaurant!), Harriston (the Cedar Rail!), Molesworth, Formosa, and, well…you get the picture.

Since asking you for recommendations, I managed a quick trip to Rockwood and dinner at Chompin’ at the Bit. But then the #Farwell4Hire campaign kept me busy for a month and a bit, so here we are ready to spend our Sundays visiting small towns again.

This trip I took to Wingham during #Farwell4Hire actually brought back some very precious memories. My sister, Sheri (one of two sisters I lost to Cystic Fibrosis), loved Bells Pizza. And when we’d travel to our family cottage in Port Elgin, Sheri would insist on a stop at Bells so she could have a slice. There was no denying Sheri. 🙂

So thanks again for the recommendation, Ann! If I could have made it back to Wingham for the Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story, I totally would have been there!

I’m looking forward to getting back out on the road, mostly by bike but even by car, as the summer goes along. Who knows, maybe we’ll run into each other on our travels?

See you along the way.

Farwell
