One man in Maine saved his 11-month old lab from what authorities call a “freak” run-in with a Black bear. Dustin Gray and his pup pulled over on the side of the road, where Clover went in about fifty feet into the woods. That’s where she was attacked by the bear. Dustin managed to fight the bear off, and rescue Clover. The Game Warden confirmed the presence of the bear, and authorities speculate that the bear must have recently relocated dens after heavy rains and hadn’t gone back into a heavy hibernation. It’s the first time a human has withstood a bear attack since 2010. Read more HERE.

Sad news from Nashville. Daryle Singletary has passed away at the age of 46.

From Taste of Country:

The “Amen Kind of Love” singer started his career as a southern gospel singer, often traveling with his parents growing up. Artists like George Jones, Ricky Skaggs, Rhonda Vincent, Randy Travis and Keith Whitley were big influences. A demo he cut for Travis eventually led to his commercial success.

The singer leaves behind a wife and four children. The fourth was Charlotte Rose, born to the singer and wife Holly in September 2014.

Fellow country stars have reacted to the news.

Rest in Peace, Daryle.
