It’s pretty awesome to see country stars still find time to workout. They put on some awesome shows, constantly make music, and a have a few parties from time to time. BUT they also want to take care of themselves!

Granger Smith has motivated so many people to get fit with a side-by-side before and after he posted!

Awkward (but necessary) post time. Today I came across these 2 accountability pics that I take from time to time. In 2014, (on the left) I lost my dad, felt sorry for myself, felt guilt, felt remorse etc. I remember going to the gym, (like I usually did) piddling around in there and caught my own eye in the mirror. Who was I? I wanted to punch that slacking dude in face, tell him to stop feeling sorry for himself. Take control. Right there I decided that I wouldn’t fall deeper into this pit. I was blessed in many ways…so ACT LIKE IT! If I wanted to make a difference with other people, I had to start with making a difference in MYSELF. Please take this as humility and not boasting or preaching. This isn’t about fitness, but to me personally that’s just where the trickle down starts with controlling my mind and challenging myself one day at a time. 5 years later (pic on the right) I’m still a work in progress. Still fighting those demons inside me, especially on 5am flight mornings like today. The difference is, now I embrace the battle. And my sword is a little sharper.

I’m going to be honest, “bouncing back” after having Jacob has been much more difficult than after I had Isaiah and I’ve been pretty hard on myself lately. I go into the gym and I can’t run as fast or as far. I can’t lift as much weight or do as many reps as I could a year ago. I just want to feel like myself again…for my body to feel the way that I know it can. As I was working out today, I realized that for the past 11(ish) months, my body has not belonged to me. It was a perfect home for Jacob. And even now it belongs to him every time he drinks his milk. As I prepare for red carpets and for life on tour, right now I make a promise to myself to start appreciating what my body CAN do and stop focusing on what it can’t. I promise to stop analyzing every angle and every curve and every pound and every meal. I’m going to keep staying the path because it is a journey and as long as I’m always working towards my goals, one day I’ll reach them. I’m going to take it day by day, smile at the girl in the mirror, and work out because I love this body and all it has done and will continue to do! #bodyafterbaby #fitmom #healthy #staythepath @caliabycarrie
