Fans Freaked Out at the Last Star Wars Trilogy Release

Happy Star Wars Day!

It may be hard to believe, but it was over 16 years ago that the last (and by last, we mean the first) Star Wars trilogy was released in movie theatres. And it’s been over 10 years since we learned of Darth Vader’s fate in “Revenge of the Sith”.

As thousands of fans flock to see “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed” today, here’s how they reacted during the opening of “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” back in May of 1999.

In this video video via Funny Local News Bloopers, we can see how the anticipation for this film even brought some fans to tears. Hey, I guess the force works in mysterious ways.

While most moviegoers had positive reviews for “The Phantom Menace”, at the very end, one fan proclaimed “I deserve a public apology from George Lucas”. Here here! Thank you for saying what everyone thought, but was too afraid to say.

There’s no possible way that the new Star Wars movie could be a disappointment … right? Either way, with the amount of tickets and merchandise sold, they’ll be laughing all the way to the bank.
