Ryan's Pick Of The Week: Shawn Austin

Good weekend…weather wise! Plenty of sun and the perfect opportunity to wash some cars. No I didn’t start my own car-wash business over the weekend, but my fiance and I decided to take the time to clean out our cars and get some suds on the hood! And you’re darn certain I had some country music playing!

As I always do, I just let the playlist run through. I trust my playlist and for some reason, if I’m not feelin’ a track, I’ll just press next! Funny thing is, I wasn’t feelin’ much over the weekend…I think I pressed next a few too many times, but it landed me on Vancouver Native Shawn Austin! Shawn visited the Country 106.7 studio during a visit to the morning show with Jenn Campbell. Being accompanied by Dallas Smith, Shawn was coming in to give us a taste of what to expect from this rising Canadian Star!

Before Shawn visited us in studio, we need to rewind a bit! The reason why he was accompanied by Dallas Smith is because Shawn Austin is signed under Dallas’ record label Steellehead Music. His first single called ‘Nashville‘ was the track he needed to become noticed!

I feel like this song, released last year, was a ahead of it’s time. Shawn saw the direction country music was taking and he knew that was the yellow brick road! I think his brains, voice, and talent is was brought him here…not only being Ryan’s Pick Of The Week…but also on our playlists.
