Nashville Kat (June 2015-2)

All proceeds from Miranda Lambert‘s sold out show at Nashville’s 3rd and Lindsley last night, about $40,000 went toward her Women Creators Fun, a scholarship for ladies in Belmont’s Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business. It’ll start in the 2016-17 school year and her goal is to support women who want to pursue their dreams in the music biz. At last night’s concert, Blake’s music was played over the speakers for an hour before the show started and when Miranda got to her second song of the night, she said she was getting by on a lot of caffeine and sad songs these days. Raelynn joined Miranda for her show last night and I also saw a Tweet Blake Shelton posted before that concert that said, “so happy right now… Got to see my RaeLynn 2 days in a row now!!!!!! I love her so much it’s stupid.” The photo he posted showed them in the studio together.

Jake Owen was asked recently if he thinks it’s harder for females to break into country music and he said, “not really, but there’s also not many songs written from a girls perspective. Miranda Lambert connects so well because she sings songs that relate to both guys and girls.”

Finally – Eric Church will be featured in a new exhibit opening at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum September 18. It will feature stage wear, guitars, song manuscripts and more and be open through February 2016.
